Growing up in a house sharing community surrounded by musicians from all over the world, MoBeatz blossomed within the rhythms of Funk, Rap, Jazz, Metal and World Music. The instrument of choice became drums and percussion with which later he shined as founder and member of the cult-like German psychedelic funk formation Phunk M.O.B. The band rose to fame in the 90s (releasing several albums and was featured on compilations alongside with Cypress Hill and Sofa Surfers). The band also played many legendary gigs all over Europe.
At a later stage moving to London, in order to realize his musical ambition and to learn from the best, MoBeatz worked as a Sound Designer for Film & TV projects (Sony Pictures, HBO and BBC) to improve his production skills in the studio. At the same time collaborating as a music producer with soul diva Elisha LaVerne, British poetry rapper Deesense, lead singer Tarriona "Tank" Ball from Tank and the Bangas, German house legend Terry Lee Brown Jr as well as with his production partner Blaze Billions.
Returning to Germany two years ago, MoBeatz began to produce German rapper MPT and soon other musical projects followed. Inspired by his old friend, a magnificent music loving lady called “Furia Curve” the output in musical diversity grew to a point where they finally decided to put all eggs in one basket and founded the record label Brave New Bass.
MoBeatz’s beats and musical arrangements are a subtle mélange of technical precision and the pure blood of a true musician. His cross-genre knowledge and skills of music and its derivation enable him to produce anything from underground to leading-edge tunes.
No matter if you take his debut soul & funk album released in 2009 “Day Or Night” (which will be remastered in 2020) or the upcoming DRUCKWELLE album, MoBeatz shows that authenticity still exists in a world of AI music and sample packs. In short, MoBeatz’s sound mostly stands for fat beats and fat bass, inspired by 40 years of funk.
